Governor Whitmer Makes Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery

Stephen R. Bell, D.O., of Carleton, is a practitioner and owner of Newport Internal Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Master of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Bell is reappointed to represent osteopathic physicians for a term commencing January 1, 2023, and expiring December 31, 2026.

John K. Everett, D.O., of Cheboygan, is a family medicine physician at McLaren Northern Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wayne State University and his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Everett is reappointed to represent osteopathic physicians for a term commencing January 1, 2023, and expiring December 31, 2026.

Craig S. Glines, D.O., of Riverview, is an osteopathic physician who currently serves as Director of Medical Education for Beaumont Farmington Hills, Trenton, and Southfield and Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program for Beaumont Trenton. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Glines is reappointed to represent osteopathic physicians for a term commencing January 1, 2023, and expiring December 31, 2026.

Khawaja H. Ikram, D.O., of Holt, is the president of Jackson Orthopedic Care and Surgery. He is also the President of the Southeastern Michigan Osteopathic Association. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Michigan State University and received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Des Moines University. Dr. Ikram is appointed to represent osteopathic physicians for a term commencing January 1, 2023, and expiring December 31, 2026. He succeeds Walker Foland whose term expires December 31, 2022.

Kathleen Rollinger, D.O., of Clinton Township, is a family medicine doctor at Beaumont Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Wayne State University and Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University. Dr. Rollinger is appointed to represent osteopathic physicians for a term commencing January 1, 2023, and expiring December 31, 2026. She succeeds Stacey Beltz whose term expires December 31, 2022.

The Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery works with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to regulate the practice of osteopathic medicine and surgery in this state and ascertain minimal entry level competency of health practitioners and verifying continuing medical education during licensure. The Public Health Code mandates certain responsibilities and duties for a health professional licensing board. Underlying all duties is the responsibility of the board to promote and protect the public's health, safety, and welfare.
